Lukee Forbes is a community organizer, advocate, and the Executive Director of We Are Revolutionary, an organization dedicated to uplifting system-impacted families through political education, healing-centered organizing, and grassroots mobilization. Now, Lukee is stepping up to run for Albany’s 3rd Ward City Council to fight for the resources, investment, and justice that Arbor Hill and its families deserve.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Lukee’s lived experience fuels his passion for change. After being funneled through the school-to-prison pipeline and serving seven years in prison, he returned home to find himself at Albany’s rescue mission, having lost both of his parents while incarcerated. Rather than letting the system define his future, he turned his pain into purpose—working to dismantle the cycles of trauma, poverty, and criminalization that hold communities back.

Under his leadership, We Are Revolutionary has engaged hundreds of directly impacted individuals, from youth leaders to families navigating housing insecurity, incarceration, and systemic neglect. His work focuses on addressing the root causes of harm—pushing for fair housing, harm reduction, economic justice, and investment in youth programs that prevent criminalization rather than perpetuate it.

As a candidate for Albany’s 3rd Ward, Lukee is committed to ensuring that Arbor Hill receives the same opportunities, resources, and respect as the rest of the city. His campaign is built on the belief that Albany is a family city, and every family deserves to thrive. His priorities include housing and neighborhood investment, public safety reform, mental health and trauma healing, youth development, and harm reduction.
